Windows 95/98 Dial-Up Connection Configuration

5. Click on the "Server Type" tab.













6. Configure your connection as in the view to the left.

Type of Dial-Up Server: PPP, Windows...

Check the following:
Enable Software...
TCP/IP...





7. Click on "TCP/IP Settings". Again set your settings to match the settings to the left.

Select the following:
Server assigned IP…
Sever assigned name…

Check the following:
Use IP header…
Use default Gateway...

Click "OK" until the windows are closed.

Connecting to the Internet

After you have completed the process above Double Click on the new connection you just made. A dialog box as you see to the left will open up. Enter the username that you were assigned, then enter the password your were given. Check the "Save Password" box if you want to skip having to enter your username & password every time you want to connect to the Internet. Click "Connect" to connect to the Internet. Depending on your computer configuration you may hear the phone dial. You may also see in the lower right hand corner next to the time a modem or two computers, this is the connection display. Once you have connected you can launch whatever browser you would like to "surf" the net with.
