X5 Instructions

Warning: You can not use this software without first ordering the X5 service, doing so may stop you from connecting to the internet. You must receive order completion conformation before installing this software.

Download and install software:

To start using the X5 system you must download the SlipStream FastNet Software, click here to download. Choose to save the file to your desktop. Once you have downloaded and saved the file double click on the web_accel.exe file on your desktop to start the installation. You will need to enter your dial-up username and password that you currently use to connect to the internet, click the o.k. button and your done. Connect to the internet as normal. It may be necessary to start the software, right or left click on the and select "Start Web Accel". The acceleration takes place automatically. This software now includes a pop-up-blocker see the software settings to use it, click on the to change them.

Using the X5 system:

Your web accelerator software will remain active in your system at all times. If you receive a notice from the software that your connection could not be found or your username and password were not accepted, just close the window. This occurs because the program is looking for the connection and could not find one (you are working off-line). If you should receive this error while on-line then check your username and password settings in the accelerator program, they are probably incorrect.

In your SysTray (the bottom right hand corner next to the time) you will notice a new icon, it looks like a globe: . You may left or right click on the icon to change the settings or check its status. When you are on-line the icon will change notifying you that you are operating in the accelerated mode: .

A few notes:

If you have trouble connecting to the internet try shutting down the web acceleration software, with it off you can connect like you always did without the acceleration. To turn off the acceleration left or right click on the web accelerator icon then select "EXIT" from the list. The program will either display: or the icon will disappear from the SysTray. To turn the accelerator back on click on "Start" then "Programs" then select "Web Accel" then click on "Web Accelerator Client".

Important:

Users should re-boot their computer when the software installation is complete.

MAKE SURE YOU ENTER YOUR ENTIRE USERNAME i.e. username@ccwebs.com or username@usa or ccwXXXX@ccwebs.com, etc. When setting up the accelerator software.

Check your Icon when you are on line, if it displays the disabled/non-active icon: then click on it and select "Start Fast Access". This will start the accelerator and display the connected icon: or  .
